Netherlands is in the WC 2010 Finals! Yes ! The Oranje out scored the La Celeste of Uruguay in a classic thriller , 3-2 !
The Dutch scored first as early as the 18th minute on captain Giovanni Van Brockhorst's left-footed strike breaking off from the left side of the pitch. Uruguay never gave up and levelled the count four minutes before the first half ended when La Celeste captain Diego Forlan curled a left-footed strike that deflected off Heitinga's head and confused the Dutch GK.
The second half proved to be a thriller as both sides started strong with attacking opportunities .Uruguay almost scored on Perreira's hit from the left and Forlan's free kick parried by GK Stekelenberg.
Moments later , Netherlands struck gold on the 70th with a 20-yard spin shot from the ever dangerous Sneijder that deflected off Pereira's thigh .
Robben then doubled the lead (3-1) on the 73rd with a textbook header from a brilliant cross from Kuyt. Robben's header proved to be the winning goal!
Uruguay frantically looked for goals to rally from then on until Pereira scored off a free kick inside three minutes of stoppage time . Final score , 3-2!
So it's Netherlands winning a thriller and moving on to the Finals as I correctly predicted. Now , let's wait for and enjoy another Semis thriller in the too difficult to call Spain - Germany match. Will Spain's suave passing game outlast Germany's blitzkrieg game? Your guess is as good as mine...
It might just be a repeat of the 2008 Euro finals though!
