Baked Talaba...
Fasting today , Friday! Or should it be feasting sans the meat? If you are a Catholic, that is...
Well, fasting Friday has never been a problem to me! I've been used to it since I was a kid , a bit hesitant then; but, so particular about it now as an adult! Today ,in keeping with tradition and my religious obligations , however, I definitely shied away from the meat for breakfast and lunch !
Breakfast was the usual pan de sal with the leftover pancit canton from last night's dinner minus the meaty parts .So no problem there, I think...
Lunch was only rice plus three big pieces of baked talaba! Yup only three but topped with cheese and baked so you can calculate the calories already!!! The talabas were so big such that the remaining half of the shell with the talaba meat in it was so, so heavy my Corelle plate almost broke... The three pieces were heavy enough which all the more made me so full because of the three-fourths cup of plain rice and the ever refreshing Fit 'n Right Pineapple liter! That was only for brunch time though!
And dinner is another story...bwaahahahaha!
