Sinag Pilipinas found a game Thai 5 hard to crack as they led only by 4 at the end of  the 1stQ!  They then poured it all early in the 2nd for a 19-1 blast to limit Thailand to only a point for almost six minutes , 40-18 , until the 2:18 mark when Thailand was able to finally score a field goal ! In what was a complete turn-around of its 1stQ play , Thailand was limited to only 8 points in the 2nd Q

It was a Sinag show from that point  on with the Gold medal just  20 minutes away and a mere  formality!

Big Man Greg Slaughter led the scoring parade for Sinag with 16 while Parks and Garcia chipped in 15 and 12 , respectively. The Pocket Rocket Eman Monfort led the game with 3 steals on top of 8 points and 3 assists!

Discovery Perlas conceded the first quarter to a surprisingly aggressive Indonesia but came back strong in the 2ndQ from 21-28 with 6:47 left to level the count at 32-all at the break! 
Discovery Perlas sustained its momentum through the 3rdQ through the FGs of Arayi , 3pt basket of Grajales and gutsy plays Adriano to pull away 55-48 at the end of the 3rdQ !

The gritty Indonesians still threatened at 66-63 with time down to 3 minutes in the 4thQ but Adriano coolly sank a 3pt basket to make it 69-63 and time down to 2:28! Indonesia threatened again with 28 seconds to go after Tsarine cashed in a FT off a foul by Almajan 71-68 !  Arayi sealed the win and the Silver after sinking both her charities in the ensuing play after a foul by Kalumata for the game's final scoreline ,  73-68!

Sinag Pilipinas  dumps gritty  Malaysia,103-74

Sinag Pilipinas found a tough and stubborn Malaysian team which relied mostly on its formidable 3pt shooting in the first half! They only led by 3 at the half, 44-41 before pouring it all late in the 3rdQ with an excellent offensive running game and locking down defensively to finally silence the Malaysian gunners! 

Sinag went on a 13-2 blast with 3:15 to go in the 3rdQ and score at 60-58 to finish the quarter at 73-60 They then limited Malaysia to a low 33 points in the entire second half while scoring 30 points of their own in the 4thQ alone!

Over all , Sinag dominated the game at the rebounding end (40-25) complemented with 21 assists (15 in the 2nd Half) compared to Malaysia's measly 9.

Sinag Piipinas will face the winner of the Indonesia-Thailand semis match in the Finals  on Sunday, 8pm !

Discovery Perlas almost won the game, and perhaps the gold medal , on regulation after Arayi grabbed the rebound after a missed Thai free throw with less than 10 seconds left in the 4th and the Phiippines up by 3, 64-61 . 

Unfortunately , Arayi was called a travelling violation and a turnover that led to Thailand's Jantakan heaving that tying 3pt. basket at the final buzzer! 

Discovery Perlas was in the thick of the fight for a potential win and a shot at its first ever SEA Games gold but its 3 missed free throws  in the last 1:40 of overtime did them the most damage!

The Filipina lasses return to final action tomorrow against Indonesia .
