Discovery Perlas rode on its impressive rebounding game over the taller Myanmar squad , cashed in huge points from Myanmar's turnovers and showed composure down the stretch to win convincingly, 57-39!
Even with a shorter frontline , Discovery Perlas won the rebounding game with 42 (10Off /32Def) against Myanmar's 33 (1Off /32Def). Their swarming defense held Myanmar to a mere 16 points in the 2nd half ( 6 pts 3rdQ / 10 pts 4thQ ) !
The much quicker Discovery Perlas' defense also led to 18 Myanmar turnovers from bad passes , 7 of which were committed in the 4thQ . Those costly Myanmar turnovers throughout the game which translated to 11 turnover points for Discovery probably cost them the game !
Spitfire Ewon Arayi and steady Analyn Almajan led our girls in both scoring (with 13 and 11,respectively) ; and , rebounding (with 7 and 11 , respectively)!
Discovery Perlas second win draw them even with Thailand and left them as the only unbeaten teams in this 5-nation tourney!
