Who's the Selfish One?

It's Valentine's Day tomorrow and a great time to celebrate love! 

Coincidentally , I got to hear about this "lovely" story not related to the Day of  Hearts per se but still about love , understanding and selfishness :

" Diane , a beautiful young lady , was at an airport waiting for her connecting flight for home ! While there, she decided to visit the airport duty-free shop to buy something to read! She also bought a pack of chocolate cookies to munch away while at the airport. 

After which ,she went inside the airport lounge , sat on one of the vacant seats , got her pocketbook and started reading.

Not long after, a young man came along and took the vacant chair a seat away from her! She continued reading anyway and started taking a piece of chocolate cookies from the pack then placed it back on the seat between her and the young man. Diane noticed , however , that the young man also got the pack of cookies from the seat between them and helped himself with a piece of cookie! Startled , Diane just let the incident passed  wondering if the young man was just absent-minded!

Diane then got a piece cookie again and as soon as she returned the pack on the seat , the young man then got the pack of cookies and once more helped himself with a piece of cookie! This time , Diane fumed at the man's seemingly rude behavior but didn't call  the man's attention! 

Once again , after finishing a cookie, she got another one but noticed that the young man, after finishing off his cookie , also grab another piece still without asking permission! This time , Diane got so mad and wanted to shout at the man for his inconsiderate behavior but decided to keep her temper in check !

Diane was starting to notice that while she reined in  her temper , every time she gets a cookie from the pack, the man would always follow after her and help himself with a cookie---without asking for one! 

She started to boil deep inside and curse from within almost deciding to throw the pack of chocolate cookies at the selfish man's face when she noticed that there was finally one cookie left in the pack!

She then waited , trying to anticipate what the young man will do next... and then , lo and behold! Silently but surely, the young man got the pack , got hold of the remaining cookie then confidently split the cookie into two and offered the other half to Diane!

"What the nerve ..." , Diane thought angrily! Then , without saying any word, she ignored the man and hurriedly left fuming deep inside ! Terribly angry!

Luckily , her flight was called and she proceeded to board her plane still smarting from the apparent lack of manners of the young man ! 

As she took her seat  inside her plane , she comfortably fastened her seat belt and tried to shrug off the unpleasant encounter at the airport lounge with the "selfish, inconsiderate and rude" young man! Shortly after  take-off , she started to settle herself inside the plane and decided to read a book once again! 

So, as  she looked for her book inside her bag , there she saw , to her great surprise , the unopened pack of chocolate cookies which she bought at the airport duty-free shop!"

Diane, to her amazement , helped herself with the young man's chocolate cookies!

Now , who was the "selfish , inconsiderate, and rude " one?
