Jn 16:12-15

[Jesus said to his disciples,] 12“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. 13But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. 14He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. 15Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.”

Reflection:

The Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. Jesus explains why he is sending the Spirit. Since he has fulfilled the Father’s plan, Jesus must go back to the Father. But as he has promised not to leave his disciples orphans, the Spirit will continue his work once he returns to the Father.

What is the Spirit to do for us? The Spirit will be our way to Jesus, leading us to the Father and guiding us on the path of salvation. The Spirit will enlighten us when our journey becomes rough and rugged, strengthen us when our load becomes heavy and burdensome, and lift us when we fall or falter on our way to the Father.

The Spirit will make us remember and understand Jesus’ teachings, move us to action, and assist us in testifying about Jesus. The Spirit will sanctify and empower us for Jesus. With the Spirit, we have nothing to fear.

I will try to know more aboutand attend the Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar.
