Reflections
Luke 11:37-41
After [Jesus] had spoken, a Pharisee invited Him to dine at His home.
He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see
that He did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The
Lord said to him, “Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of
the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You
fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to
what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for
you.”
Reflection:
Oh you Pharisees! I find the Lord’s comment amusing. But it must be a
sigh of exasperation. The Pharisees still cannot get it, going after
externals, formalities, and trivial concerns while missing the real
issue.
All things in this life are fraught with meaning, if we just learn
how to look more closely and think more deeply.
A father keeps spoiling
his son with gadgets and accessories. His son, however, remains cold
towards him because it is his time and attention that the son needs and
not excuses as to why he cannot be with him.
Watch and look for the inside. The stories from the soul and the real scores are there.
Sit down and quietly observe your children.
