Giant Salt Water Crocodile Captured !

Today in the News

Giant Salt Water Crocodile Captured !

Just days back , it was reported that a giant salt water crocodile was captured in the marshes of Bunawan , Agusan del Sur in Mindanao(southern Philippines)!

The 6.4 meter, more than a thousand kilo crocodile was seen to have eaten a water buffalo and suspected of devouring a local fisherman before it was captured after a three-week hunt. Interestingly, it is believed to be the largest salt water croc captured alive ; thus, the local government is planning to build a park to make the giant crocodile a tourist attraction of its town!

What is surprising here is that it took the locals three weeks and more than a hundred people to capture the giant croc ! Had they gone instead to the  Batasan Pambansa ,Quezon City , they could have easily landed a real big one from the more than two hundred hungry crocs there in no time at all with less manpower!

In fact , as reported in the news lately , one of the crocs there allegedly even bullied a helpless security guard near the University of the Philippines in Diliman ! Curiously , this croc was also one of those from a family of politicians who allegedly mauled a helpless family of golfers  in a golf course some years back!

So what's the big deal about a giant salt water croc being captured alive in Agusan when there are at least two hundred of them seen daily  in Quezon City ?

And to think that the Bunawan folks are even  planning to build a park for their captured giant crocodile to make it a tourist attraction even when there are already more than two hundred crocodiles freely roaming in a tourist spot called the Batasan?
