JOHN 3:16-18
God so loved
the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in
Him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be
saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him will not be condemned, but
whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not
believed in the name of the only Son of God.
Reflection
God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. What have you done
in the name of love?
What have you sacrificed for a loved one? What have
you truly and freely given for a beloved?
And you have given not to
condemn or to collect or to get recompense, but simply to express your
love! Have you experienced being so much in love that you will do
anything for love or for the person you love?
If you have experienced this love-giving, to the point of giving not
only what you have or who you are but your only heart, then it will be
easy to understand the Father. It will also be very natural to know the
Son and very close to feel the Holy Spirit. For the Trinity simply means
a love-giving relationship.
The Trinity is God who “reinvents” Himself as Father who made
everything, as Son who gave everything, and as Spirit who reminds us of
this love-giving God.
Change roles with your spouse in doing the household chores.
