Dallas Mavs take G4 in OT !
Dallas Leads Series 3-1
With a 3-1 lead over the OKC Thunder in their Western Conference semis series, the Dallas Mavs are now a win away from the 2011 NBA Finals !
The Mavs were down by 12 (87-99) with 4:34 left in the 4Q when Dirk Nowitsky went on a shooting rampage and the Mavs forced a series of turnovers on the Thunder for a 14-2 run (1 out 9 from the field and 0-2 on FT)) to end regulation time at 101 -101! That fantastic Mavs run continued in OT which saw the Thunder crumbling and scoring only 4 points and Dallas with 11 for a 112-105 crucial win going to G5 in Dallas .
To be sure, the Thunder were menacing off the boards in the game with a 55-33 edge in total rebounds and had 15 more offensive rebounds against the Mavs. On the other hand ,as usual , the Mavs were a better 3 PT. and FT shooting team over the Thunder with a 32% to 15% edge and 84% to 72% , respectively. What brought down the Thunder , however , were their 25 turnovers with 9 from KD alone!
Why did the Thunder collapse ? Inexperience particularly at closing time!
It's going to be the Dallas Mavs to the 2011 NBA Finals by G5 of the series!
