Team Azkals Philipppines bow to Indons , 0-1!
The loud, hostile, boisterous crowd? Case of failure to communicate? Or intimidation factor? So many factors to throw in to explain how GK Neil Etheridge committed that costly keeping mistake! He was the best GK in this tournament so far, conceding only a goal (vs Singapore) after 3 group games. And now, this costly blunder after colliding with last defender Jonsson in an attempt to slap or probably retrieve that innocent but dangerous cross (from just above the right side outside the big box) to Indon striker Gonzales who was down in the left near the penalty box... and suddenly chaos in the Azkals' defense!
Then the banging of bodies and a clean, beautiful spinning header towards the far post and now , Indonesia up 1 nil!
Yup ! At an instant , the thunderous roar of the crowd , the loud fireworks booming and firing brightly...and there goes our "home-game-away" literally taken by the Merah Putihs, forever!
So what if it was a keeping mistake ! But what the heck! The team just has to learn from the mistake.They just have to deal with the loss quickly and resolve to play smarter and better on the "away leg" of the duel... just like planning the comeback at the half and pushing on for the remainder of the game!
Etheridge ? He'll learn from the mistake and get better , tougher! The team ? Well , the Azkals are tough bunch ! Losses like this one build character!
