Azkals end Cinderella run, bows to Indonesia (0-1)!
The amazing run is over for the Azkals and it came on the 43rd minute of leg 2 after Cristian Gonzales unleashed that lethal volley way beyond the box on the left! To top it all , the heart breaker was a mean left kick which came after Gonzales' previous volley from a longer distance from the right was foiled! GK Etheridge never had a chinaman's chance against that killer of a strike.
Thus , the Azkals' campaign in this year's AFF Suzuki Cup may have closed but their heads unbowed!
Now , where to Azkals?
For the leadership :Time to reflect on this year's campaign and perhaps map out the future of Philippine football? Or , to do some housecleaning first?
For the team: Time to heal the pains and bruises BOTH physically and emotionally caused by numerous battles , in and out of the pitch! I guess those suffered from out the football pitch will take longer to heal?
For potential sponsors : Time to take a look at the sport towards its long-term uplift and development it truly deserves!
For current benefactors : Time to continue pouring support, financially and in whatever valuable way PLUS more !
For fans , believers, new converts : Time to watch football games with more passion and enthusiastically spread the good news!
To all : Let this new found success of the Azkals not just be a passing fancy for us all!
